I left with an outstanding resume, excellent interviewing tips, and a fabulous suit. Career Wardrobe helped me find the confidence to present myself as a professional woman looking for a career.
- Wendolyne David, former Career Wardrobe participant
My name is Wendolyne David. Ten years ago after bouncing from job to job and enduring several layoffs, I found myself on welfare. I had lost confidence in my ability to find meaningful work when an opportunity opened up at the company where I had a temporary position.
I was eager for the opportunity to work for a company where I could build a career, but I was unprepared and lacked confidence in myself. My future seemed desolate: Without a resume, I couldn’t apply to the job I wanted. Without a suit, I wouldn’t look or feel my best for that interview. That’s when I found The Career Wardrobe.
Connecting women to the right resources.
The Career Wardrobe helped me connect the dots to make a positive first impression at that interview.
When I first walked into the dressing suite, I was nervous. But the women at The Career Wardrobe were helpful and understanding and NEVER made me feel like I didn't have a chance.
I landed that job and seven years later, I have found my calling. More than anytime before, I feel like I am finally part of something bigger.
This past year, The Career Wardrobe has helped connect the dots for over 7,000 women like me.
No matter what stage in our job search, The Career Wardrobe helps women like me find careers that we can be proud of by assisting us with clothing, skills building and confidence.
In the past 15-years, they have helped over 60,000 women successfully transition to work. 60% of their clients secure employment and no longer need public assistance saving taxpayers $374 million in public benefits.
Your gift connects women to work.
I will never forget the hospitality and generosity that was shown to me by The Career Wardrobe that day. This year, I am finally in a position to give back and I hope you will join me to inspire another woman to reach her full potential.
