All once homeless, the “men in blue” of Ready, Willing & Able – known for their trademark blue uniforms – work in paid transitional jobs that benefit the City of Philadelphia, such as maintaining vacant lots, providing sidewalk cleaning services, cleaning the city’s three homeless shelters for families, and picking up litter in the city’s parks and public spaces (such as Rittenhouse Square, Fairmount Park, and LOVE Park). Participants graduate from the program upon achieving permanent, full-time employment, independent housing, and lasting sobriety.
Wash Cycle Laundry is a laundry business and a social enterprise. We entered this business to green every step of doing laundry, from the means of delivery to the equipment and detergents. We're also striving to create meaningful, upwardly mobile careers for Philadelphians. To read more about what we're doing to achieve these goals, check out our website.
