Procedures

  1. Participants that want to visit The Career Wardrobe must have an appointment made for them by their Case Manager/Agent.
    • If they are visiting us a second time, the participant can make their own appointment but must bring proof of employment with them (a letter from their employer, pay stub, letter from case manager/agent).
    • Due to timing restraints, participants more than fifteen minutes late for their appointment will be rescheduled. If they cannot make their appointment, we request at least 24 hour notice.
  2. Upon arrival at The Career Wardrobe, participants will be asked to sign in and complete the computerized form.
  3. Each participant will be assisted by a staff member or volunteer. These "Boutique Staff" will work closely, one on one, with the participant.
    • Friends, boyfriends and children are not permitted to accompany them. If the participant does bring someone, they will be rescheduled at a time convenient for them for them to return unaccompanied.
    • Case Managers/Agents do not need to accompany participants with their students as our "Personal Dressers" will assit them with their clothing. Of course, if you would like to come and get a tour of the dressing suite, we would be pleased to do so.
  4. The participant will be taken into the dressing suite and allowed to browse through our inventory to find their perfect outfit.
    • Clothing that does not fit one woman may fit someone else, so all items must be tried on and no one will be permitted to receive clothing without making sure it fits. Other items are offered depending upon availability.
  5. Once an outfit is chosen, the participant will receive their new outfit and they are invited to come back once they get a job to receive two more work appropriate outfits.
  6. Due to our limited space, large groups are requested to return to their programs once they have finished selecting their outfits.
  7. The length of each appointment can vary, although we generally limit each visit to an hour. If a participant cannot find an outfit that day, they are invited to reschedule.
