Portraits of Progress Nomination

Our suits tell stories.

In 1995, The Career Wardrobe opened its doors to pass donated suits onto women just starting their journeys in the workforce.

As we celebrate the organization’s 16th Anniversary, we are taking this opportunity to tell the stories of some of the 70,000 women who have come through our doors. These stories of personal achievement, perseverance and opportunity together will show how the simple acts of donating a suit, assisting a woman with her resume or teaching her networking and professional development skills have a lasting impact.

This year we are creating Portraits of Progress which will tell and honor the stories of women who have been helped by The Career Wardrobe and, in turn, used their new skills and economic independence to improve their lives, provide for their families and have a positive impact in their community.

The Story of a Suit: Portraits of Progress photography exhibit will be unveiled during The Career Wardrobe’s annual fundraising gala, A Perfect Fit, on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue in Philadelphia. These stories and images will then be used to promote our work into the future.

The ideal Story of a Suit candidate should:

• Be a former client of The Career Wardrobe

• Have achieved success and personal satisfaction in her life and career

• Be dedicated to empowering women, both herself and others

• Demonstrate the ability to overcome adversity and/or rising to challenges
